How does it work?

Video, small group process and workbook study lead participants to healing

Watch this GriefShare webcam video to discover how easy it is to lead GriefShare!

Over 13 weeks, GriefShare shows participants how to access the hope, help and healing that God offers. Here’s how it works:

Participants attend 13 video seminar/discussion sessions

Participants meet for 13 weekly GriefShare sessions. Each session features helpful, comforting videos and encouraging group discussion.

Your role in a typical meeting looks like this:

Show participants a 30–40 minute video: The video features the insights of the Christian community’s top grief recovery experts. It also presents the stories, reflections and advice of those who’ve healed from the grief of bereavement. Encourage your participants to take notes in their workbook using the video outlines.

Facilitate group discussion: Guide participants in talking with one another about what they’ve seen in the video. They will also discuss how their daily GriefShare workbook exercises are helping them see their situation from God’s perspective. During the discussion, group members will share the challenges they’re facing and victories they’re experiencing. Your Leader’s Guide includes weekly discussion questions to help you guide this time.

Participants use the GriefShare workbook

Each GriefShare participant receives a workbook. Using a variety of methods, the workbook helps participants sort their thoughts and emotions. It also helps them discover what God says about their situation. Each workbook contains daily Bible studies, weekly journal sections, a gospel presentation, tear-out Scripture cards and more. Encourage them to use this important tool.
